Val Moker is a flat work artist whose passion is displayed in her diverse range of figurative art that blends atmosphere, character and emotion into crisply engaging compositions. Val began her art career in the early '80’s as a teacher of the visual arts after receiving an education degree and an arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

Moker’s work has appeared at such venues as Aim for Arts International Art Competition, Calgary Stampede Western Art Showcase, Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists, Cowboys & Indians Magazine, Dean Smith Celebrity Rodeo, Englishman's Boy Productions Ltd., International Museum of Contemporary Masters of Fine Art, Laredo Center for the Arts International Art Show, Motion Picture & Television Fund’s Golden Boot Awards, Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, Rolling Pin International Magazine, Rough Rider International Art Show, and Women Artists of the West International Art Competition.

Val’s citations include the Academy of Western Artist's Will Rogers Medallion Award, the Canadian Portrait Academy’s Peoples' Choice Award and the Calgary Stampede Western Art Showcase' Best New Artist Award. Among her commissions, most notable are works completed for the Motion Picture and Television Fund's Golden Boot Awards, the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame and Englishman's Boy Productions Ltd.
